Hello peoples!

I have the need to again confront this site of masterminds and it's regarding some issues with a motherboard, ram, and CPU cooler.

I have been requested to build a mini itx PC with a budget of $1300 and this is what I've come up with.

Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard

G.Skill TridentZ Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

be quiet! Dark Rock 3 67.8 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler

Will there be an clearance issues with the CPU cooler and the placement of the ram?

Solution
The cooler can be a problem if looking to use ram in the first slot, otherwise if the ram is put in the 2nd and 4th slots it should be fine. It's cutting a bit close, 160mm tall cooler and the cpu cooler height limit for the case says 160mm. Hopefully if there's any slight difference in manufacturing the case will be a mm or two wider rather than narrower. Trident z are somewhat tall ram modules due to the heat spreader.

If looking to put ram in the first slot one solution is to raise the fan which is common with larger air coolers. In order to do that the case has to be wider than the cooler is tall, raising the fan will make the cooler too tall for the case. It may not be an issue now but something to consider down the road if...

It may not be an issue now but something to consider down the road if someone wanted to add two more sticks of ram. Since trident z are too tall for the first slow getting low profile ram later on to fit under the fan automatically means picking different mixed ram which may or may not be an issue.
