Hi,
It's been a while since I upgraded my CPU and I wanted some opinions on whether there is much use in me getting a better CPU or wait a little bit longer, im not sure on when the next gen of processors are due. Im currently playing the BF1 trial on medium settings at 1080p and mostly around 60fps with drops into the 40's.
And im also looking to play GoW4 and other more demanding games.
PC Specs:
CPU - i5 3470
GPU - EVGA GTX 970 SSC
Mobo - Asrock B75M-DGS R2.0
Ram - 2x 4GB HyperX Blu
HDD - 1x 1TB WD Blue 7200RPM
Fans - 2x 120mm
PSU - XFX 550w PSU

If you want to upgrade your CPU, you will need to buy another Motherboard and RAM as well. Because you have the 1155 socket, which supports 2nd and 3rd gen CPUs, which are slower than the newer gen CPUs of course. So you need to make up your mind if you want to do that too. It will cost more money. If you do want to upgrade, than upgrade to an 1151 socket. Which is one of the newest. Otherwise you can upgrade to an 1150 socket, but that will cost around the same. So I recommend upgrading to an 1151 socket.

You don't need to upgrade your GPU, since it is a very solid card.

But as I said, if you upgrade, you will do best if you upgrade to an 1151 socket, which also forces you to buy a new Motherboard and new RAM.

That's the problem, my graphics card was the lastest to be upgraded (Jan 2016) and I was hoping to get more use out of it then a year, I was thinking of some kind of bundle to upgrade CPU and the mobo as mandatory with maybe 16gb of RAM. And yes I understand with the motherboard upgrade, forgot to mention in initial post.
