And I'm building this rig specifically for modding skyrim and fallout nv. my resolution is 1080 and im okay with 30fps . Like to use an enb too if i could.

Skyrim, especially modded, is an extremely VRAM intensive game. You will be far better off getting 8 GB RX series card over the 6GB GTX GPU for it, double that for the incoming remastered version, if you want to keep same price, or just bite the bullet and go for 8 GB 1070.

Just to give you an idea, I just replied to another poster also asking about Skyrim

With the following mods at the current 4GB limit I run out of VRAM:

UUNP Special Body (with full HDT working vag SOS etc.), both 2K and 4k textures, on 2K I can play about 1-1.5 hours before it catches up, on 4k about 15 minutes. + Some custom HDT outfits, hair, eyes, etc. Few extra NPCs, not too many.

And I can forget about ENBs terrain. lighting, etc. Just that alone fills out...

the 1st set up is an asus z170 right? Its an overclockable mobo so if i were you, i'll get the i5 6600k with a K in the end, to maximize the potential of ur motherboard , if u want to get the i5 6600 only, just get a cheaper board to save some cash:)

Skyrim is all about the VRAM, double that when modded, the rest of it is much less of a difference. That 10-20% extta possible FPS does squat for a game you'll need to limit to 60 FPS anyways (cause of its crappy FPS tied physics engine), and at the same time run out of VRAM and start seeing missing textures and whatnot everywhere and then CTD unless you do preventive game restarts.

Yeah i would go with a 6600k but my budget has reached it's limit.although maybe I'll change the cpu in a few months then I'll OC the mobo.
