While trying to install my new gtx 1060 graphics card,I had left my pc connected to switch-board in 'switch on' condition, although the pc was not running and was 'TURNED OFF' before.Did that cause damage to mobo or other parts?

Solution
The only "confirmation" you can get is....'does everything work?'

We out here cannot tell exactly what you did.

The PC was not running at the time?
Probability of damage very close to 0%.

no sparks or smoke were seen, bro. But just confirming about possible hardware damage,as mentioned in mobo's manual.

not exactly familiar with the ''switch board switched on' u mean the IO on the psu on I?
here ill give u a personal example..
Ive been frustrated many many MANY times with computers..and ill admit im not patient every time i hit a wall.
so ive done things from pulling sata cables out of harddrives/cd drives to pulling power cord from psu while the computer is on.
u can do stupid shit to ur parts but one thing u need to watch out for is when connections or wires are hot try not to short it lol which reminds me of another story,..
i was changing a 12v battery on a car and accidentally hit both terminals with my box end wrench while all the wires are connected to the battery.. oh shit it was fuckin NYE sparks i tell u.. but nothing messed up ..

All that being said...One way to find out for sure bro plug it in and power it up... *without the 1070 installed first!

usually i would care about the hard drives and gpufirst when it comes to priority.. mobo meh but if u have a mobo more expensive than a gpu..

just do a close visual on the board, im not an expert but id check the capacitors and do it again in a month to see if its bulging or spewing fluids lol. ill have to say if there was something wrong you would have posted a different topic headline by now. also if ur really in doubt, back up what u need and set it aside unconnected in a anti static baggie

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Soham_95 : "Expert/Techie suggestion necessary"

You probably misunderstood someone who knows whats the meaning of 'disrespecting' a forum's member, from whom he is seeking help.

And as far as "techie"...pretty much everyone reading this is a techie of some sort.

Unless you are looking for an official tech rep from your motherboard or GPU company. In which case, ask them.

As far as respect is concerned,I must say he himself said that 'I am not an expert'.So,I am not that kind of a person who has no respect for members of this reputed forum, but was just concerned as my mobo is very costly.Indian Rupees 26,400

its fine,
I was just trying to help cuz i saw no one posted after a few hours.

and for the record.. OP shouldnt be asking those types of question cuz theres so many variables to factor in and i know where ur coming from, u just want someone to tell u its gonna be alright.
guess what it aint gonna happen.

and btw techie or not techie this isnt a techie question. u cannot diagnose electronic parts via tomshardware.com/forums with just a few sentences to go on.
man up and use ur common sense

I have been installing GPUs/RAM for over 2 years while the PC is on and idleing, sometimes I see one or two sparks come out but never had any issues. Ofcourse I do not recommened this whats so ever and it's not healthy. Ofcourse, if you try to do what I do, it's on your own risk.
