Hi all!

Thanks for taking the time to read my question. My problem is that I have a hp ProLiant dl180 g5 server. it was making a lot of noise so I decided to put it into a normal computer case with bigger fans so it would be less noisy. This went relatively well (a few hiccups here and there). Unfortunately, however one of my fan connector pins broken. This header has now completely stopped working. This wouldn't be a problem because I have plenty of other headers on my system board which I can use but the post fails because it absolutely wants that specific port to be in use (it fails saying that system fan 4 is damaged or not working). I do have 5 fans plugged in so cooling isn't a problem. If anyone here knows how I can fix it or bypass this error message your help will be more than welcome.

if you don't know the answer thanks anyway for taking the time to read my post.

Solution
Any pointed tip soldering iron would do, just don't heat too long. A piece of MIG steel welding wire would be best for it, it's copper clad and takes solder just fine. Just need an inch of it, solder in and cut to size.

I guess I could do that I do have a soldering iron at home. Do you happen to know any good tutorials? Also, what could I use as a replacement for the pin?
