It does look like the issue is coming from the SSD then, @WarriorTemplar! If the problem is still present on your notebook as well as your desktop, then you should most definitely check the SSD warranty status through the manufacturer's customer support. Try finding their contacts on the official SSD website.
If it's still covered by the warranty, you should be able to send an RMA request and get a replacement from them.

Always make sure you backup your files to multiple locations in order to avoid any potential data loss in the future!

I hope I was helpful. Best of luck! :)

Welcome to Tom's Hardware, @WarriorTemplar!

This sounds pretty unfortunate! :( Have you tried connecting the SSD to another computer as well to see how it will get recognized there? This will help us determine what might be the root of the issue. I'd also suggest you swap the SATA port on the motherboard, not only the SATA cable itself. Another thing you should take a look at is the SATA controller & Chipset drivers from your mobo manufacturer's official website and make sure you manually update to the latest ones from there. While on it, check your BIOS version and update it, if necessary. (follow the instructions from your mobo manual)

Hope this helps you recognize the SSD properly.
Let me know how it goes!
