Need Motherboard for Intel Core 2 Duo

I have a Dell Optiplex that has a great Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz E8400 CPU and I want to use this CPU for a gaming PC and need a new motherboard for it that has 2 GPU slots for dual graphics. Can some1 get me a link to maybe a nice refurbished one I could use for this? So a LG775 with dual graphic slots that uses DDR2 RAMS(couldnt find which model RAMS in BIOS, hopefully my old 1's will work)is what I need. Thanx!

An i3 6100 runs circles around any Core2 even the quads and even beats every AMD processor in a majority of gaming situations. An i3 with a cheap motherboard and 8GB of DDR4 can be had for $200. You could pair that with a GTX 1070 without much of a bottleneck.

LGA 775 has been obsolete since 2009. The E8400 was a great chip back then but it is not a capable gaming processor today. Most modern games require a quad core CPU and the E8400 is only dual core. Also since LGA 775 is obsolete and out of production you have very limited choices when it comes to a motherboard. Mostly used stuff on ebay.

This motherboard would be what you want but may not be what you need... for your case that is, if your motherboard and case are the type I'm thinking.. check the image and see what I mean... If that's your motherboard or is the same form factor (way expansion slots, ports and screwholes pattern), then you'll need a new ATX case to use the ASUS P%ND2-SLI Delixe motherboard which is an ATX form factor and needs a case with the ATX screwhole pattern and the size to fit a ATX mobo.. your case would be the size of a MATX case but have a different screwhole pattern.

I kind of agree with anort3 but I know not everyone can afford a new build so they try to make due with what they have. For such situation, a stronger CPU would be an alternative. The Core2 Quad Q9550 would be twice as strong than the E8400... but including the ASUS PND2 SLI mobo and ATX case, new PSU, and also include another or the two graphics cards, the budget would run so high, you may be able to build a modern low budget setup with the same amount.

^ Add ~$40-$50 to that for a case and you wouldn't have to worry about fitting parts into something proprietary.

Yes. I'll have to swap cases(I have a mid tower to use)and I have a spare PSU and hard drives, just need the mobo(and probably RAM.). Thanx all for contributing.
