Hi. I recently obtained an i7-920 cpu and some ddr3 ram, and I would like to buy an x58, lga 1366 motherboard in order to make a relatively decent gaming pc. Thing is, mobos with this socket are so damn expensive. After some research, I found an HP Truckee UL8E IPMTB TK Intel Motherboard 594415-002, that is decently priced. However, this motherboard doesn't seem to have a stellar reputation, at least based on what I found. Based on the product ID I think that this might be a newer revision that might be alright, but I don't know. I wanted to ask if anyone knows if I should spend close to 77 pounds(with shipping) for that, and if it will last me at least one year with some overclocking on the CPU. (Or better yet, if anyone knows another lga 1366 board at around the same price point or cheaper in Europe I would be grateful)

The rest of the system:
Probably a Corsair CX 600W PSU( I also need to buy a PSU)
6 GB DDR3
Radeon 7850 2GB OC
1 TB WD 7200
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo for the CPU

Hi. I have 2 x58 mobos.
1 sabertooth x58
1 asrock extreme x58
.
And by practising those 2 i really recommend the asrock one.
For sabertooth x58
Tried a Xeon x5670 un sabertooth. I could.not Make it post its dram properly on sabertooth x58.. for an i7 920.i.suppose.it is fine as it is fine for me.with i7 950. But i loose 4gb for 3x4gb corsair Vengeance modules so 8gb instead of 12gb ..why ? I never understood. Dram controller.is horrible.on that mobo..
Moreover crossfriring or simply.plugging 2 good gpus is horrid the 2 pcie slots being too close one to.the other..which Can be useful if you like cryptomining for.example..
The only advantage is the 6gb sata marvell controller which Can Drive like a 4tb hard Drive which i could not achieve with the asrock.

on the asrock Crossfire is much easier. Space between pcies is fine plus RAM controller not as crap as on the Asus.. just Google sabertooth x58 dram red light you'll understand..
For the asrock i am running i795 with thermalright 120. 3x2gb ocz + 3x1gb gskill it Boots and overclock without a trouble..like a charm i Can overclock near 4ghz + i Can Run my 2 x r9 280x easy. Which is un-imaginable.in sabertooth due to Space between pcie slots..ahummm

Haven't tried the Xeon x5670.on my asrock but i know already it was a total failure with my sabertooth x58 pretty sure it's gonna be.much better with the asrock..
Had to.press memok ram Button for every boot.no.overclock possible. On the Asus..with a Xeon x5670 3x4gb corsair Vengeance.. had to reseat back i7950 for something almost ok..

Horror..

That is my experience from these 2 x58.mobos..

You Can go asrock x58.extreme i recommend..but limiting with 2tb hard drives. for data (could.not Make work a 4tb wd HD on it but on sabertooth ok through marvell.) With a Good ssd for boot of course.you'll.have more 'upgrading'.power for.gpu or CPU imho..with the asrock..

There are other models..but i don't know..

PS..the cpuheatsink is a lepa120.in my sabertooth x58..no bent pins on cpu socket okay..so there is no.way to.say that dram.is going crazy due to that.. on asrock extreme you have a very useful reset Button too and Real.codes showing up.when she posts.for boot also ..does help.a. Lot. Nothing of that in the sabertooth. Extreme advantage.
