I thought AMD was cheaper and was going with it initially but apparently I did the math and searched for the cheapest pieces and intel still turned out to be a few bucks cheaper. Because they are sooo close in price, which build is better that I have?

Is there any other way I can improve it without having to add more money? this is the most I have

I suggest you switch the fx-6300 for the fx-8300. Cost only $114 and the 95watt works with all 970'shttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113399&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleKWLess&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleKWLess-_-DSA-_-CategoryPages-_-NA&gclid=CKPXtqfn4M8CFRcvgQodPDYPYw&gclsrc=aw.ds

I would much rather have the Intel build. The i3 is WAY faster most of the time, and it has a far better upgrade path. Not to mention that psu is far superior in the i3 build. Just make sure you get the Intel version of that M9 cooler or just use the i3's stock cooler.

yea totally leaning towards to i3 since the price isn't a whole lot different. most fans are lying that amd was cheaper...

it comes with stock cooler? btw which m9 cooler is the one for intel? I don't want to get wrong one.

Plus, knowing that skylake runs on 14nm technology and not intended for OC, should I even worry about cooler much?

The i3's multithreaded performance is similar to the FX-6300's when all cores/threads are fully utilized, but the i3 packs that punch in 2 cores + HT rather than 6 cores. In anything that doesn't perfectly fill all of the cores, the i3 is faster, up to 80% faster.

I heard multicore is better for stuff like 3d and image editing which is what i'm getting it for. Since FX has real 6 core and not emulated hyperthread like intel, does it make a difference or is the skylake still better just because it has better instruction per cycle?

does that come with the cpu or would I have to bundle it for extra cost? seems like amazon wants more money for cooler.
