Hello!

So I have a newly built PC. Then I installed Windows 7 without any problems. Now when I tried to install the drivers for my motherboard, I was surprised when it couldnt detect my USB drive. So I thought it would be better to restart the PC and check the BIOS. I reset everything back to default and booted up Win7 once again. Still wont detect my USB. Then I went to the Device Manager that's where I saw the error. Under "Other Devices" - USB Controller has the has the exclamation point in it. I've never experienced this before and I've read in a few threads that some were solved when they set the BIOS back to default. But that didnt help for me.

Thanks

Well don't do something crazy like FLASH your bios unless someone thinks otherwise, but I would suggest getting your MOBO model number. You can find it on your box or using CPUID ( a free program for reading a few things about your computer hardware). Then go to your manufacturer's site, then to support, and then to driver & tools. You should see something like this.

Qualified Vendor List (5)

Hotfix (2)

Declaration of Conformity (11)

BIOS (17)

Chipset (5)

AUDIO (6)

LAN (3)

USB (4)

Utilities (27)

SATA (8)

Manual (13)

I know that I also had the yellow icons for my m5a99fx pro r2.0 and then I downloaded the USB driver and had no problems since.

I already installed all the drivers. On my USB tab. There is only 1 driver available for download and thats for the USB 3.0. Btw, I saw my USB thumbdrive in the BIOS. It just wont appear on windows.

Update: My bad. I havent installed the USB 3.0 drivers. After installing it. It fixed my problem. Thanks again
