I have waited ~5 years to upgrade. I'm still using a Radeon 7970 that I bought in ~January 2012. Now I feel would be a good time to get a new card since my pc stutters every now and then, but Pascal has already been out ~6 months and to me that feels like a long time in tech, especially if 1080ti or vega is around the corner. After 5 years, I can wait a bit more.

Anyone else in the same boat? What are your thoughts on this matter?

I have a good amount saved from not upgrading in so long so money isn't an issue. But I am in Canada so it will be a big hassle importing Titan X Pascal, but I am still considering it...

Sorry if this type of thread pops up often!

nothing much right now other than some rumor. there are rumor talking about 1080ti might launch at next year CES. that's mean january next year. as for AMD vega AMD own investor slide pointing to 1H 2017. could be in Q1 or Q2 next year but some people suspect (including myself) that it is more likely Q2 next year. because in the same presentation AMD did mention what product they intend to bring in Q1 next year. so if Vega are confirm in Q1 next year AMD will say Vega will be in Q1 instead of 1H 2017. though it seems professional vega card might launch first before we see radeon based vega.

also there are speculation that nvidia might bring in volta much faster than expected to replace pascal. looking at pascal alone we can see nvidia...

There is only 'rumours' on the 1080ti and vega at the moment. I mean atleast AMD's vega is expected and hopefully performs well.
However there is speculation that the 1080ti might not launch until AMD releases their GPU's (whenever they do). There is spec leaks on the 1080ti though ;) Looks basically like a cut down Titan XP.

Im also in a similar boat but it's impossible to guess at the moment, it's more like Im just waiting for something good to come out. Also there is the fact that there is always something new around the corner to wait for XD
