Can a 4gb ddr3 1600mhz run on a G41M-GS3 mobo?

Can a 4gb ddr3 1600mhz run on a G41M-GS3 mobo? because the ram slot in my mobo says ddr3 1333. But i tried putting a 2gb ddr3 1600 on it and it works, will it still work on a 4gb ddr3 1600? Thanks for answering..

The motherboard supports the DDR3 platform, but the maximum supported speed is 1333MHz so your MOBO should automatically adjust the speed. Performance may be hindered but it should work.

If it's an older stick of 4GB DDR3, todays' DDR (Post 2010) are made with high density memory chips which aren't native to the socket 775 mobos, DDR3 (Pre 2011) were made using low density memory ICs

Thanks for the answer, well someone swapped my 1600 4gb to a 1333 4gb. But when I put the ram in place along with the 2gb 1600 that I previously own that I said was working, it turned on but in my bios cannot read the 1333 4gb, instead it can only read the 2gb 1600. I tried putting on just the 4gb 1333, but my system turns off and on. BTW the 4gb 1333 works in my other systems.
