Hi im rather new to Mac, and hope ya'll can help! I utilize BOTH Safari, Opera. Getting weird looking Adobe Flash Player Updates (x2). Last night noticed difficulty with sound in Opera...I think! Possible Operator error! Anyway, did bit of research, Safari 10 doesnt require flash (yay!) started to delete from Mac, discovered just how invasive this software really is!
Do i need java and Flash for Opera?
If not, do still i need NPAPI Plug-ins? again x2, with Check Now for updates...

thanks for any guidance!

I have used mac since 2005 and from the get go have had various problems with the opera browser to do with flash or shockwave content especially when trying to install plugins. I would recommend if it isn't a big deal to you to just use either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

I found chrome to be the best for plugins and extensions however this does come at a cost to performance as chrome is quite hungry on RAM and CPU usage so its generally not the best option for older devices.

As for firefox I have found over the years that it will work for literally almost anything for me it's the Toyota Hilux of browsers "It may not be the best or the fanciest but it gets the job done.". I have ran firefox on every OS from WindowsXP-10 on...

I have ran firefox on every OS from WindowsXP-10 on various computers and on macs since the old coloured I-macs its even pretty good on phones nowadays!

Hope this helps! it is probably just some weird opera bug to do with the update or something but the easiest solution for me wad to just avoid opera and go with a better browser solution that works for me.
