Upgrading a hp compaq to game

Hi there, I am upgrading a hp Compaq Presario cq5300uk to game at high graphics. It has a amd Athlon llx4 215 (dual core and slow XD) Howerver I may upgrade to 955 (I think it is compatible) I will overclock because I have a liquid cooler, and I will move to corair 100r case. Ihave amd sapphire 265 2gb gpu. I have hyper x black 8gb ram lying around but I want to know it has a seebd of 1866 but the motherboard only supports 1066, WIILL THEY WORK? (idk if it will only achive a speed of 1066 but will itt woprk I will probally sell it then) WILL ALL THINGS WORK. obtw im getting a 600w psu to power the stuff. Thanks

If you're looking for recommendation of a card I would say RX 460.
If you wonder, yes your motherboard is AM3 so it can have a 955 in it.
I do not think 1866Mhz will work as it says maximum 1333Mhz, and because of how little ram is supported on your motherboard I would suggest going for a MoBo + CPU Upgrade combo, maybe I3 6100 and H110M motherboard for future upgrade ability and more ram overall because your motherboard seems to support only 4GB which is quite low.

Your RAM will work at the maximum speed your motherboard supports, and that is 1066 MHz. No more. But it works at minimum of 1333 MHz, so it will likely NOT be supported. New mobo is your best bet.

When getting the PSU, get a quality model, not some cheap stuff. Seasonic, XFX, Antec HCG, EVGA B2/G2, Superflower... they are all good choices.
