Currently i have a 250gb ssd which has my operating system (win 10) and drivers on it, and a2tb hdd which has all other files and programs. I recently purchased a 960gb ssd and i want to get rid of the hdd and just use it for back ups. What would the best setup be for the 2 ssd's and what would be the best method to get it that way? I wouldn't mind doing a fresh install of everything on the new ssd if it is possible to install everything kind of in the background then transfer over my personal documents if you know what i'm talking about. Thanks for any advice.

Solution
macrium reflect. just clone the 2tb drive to the 960gb ssd, pull out the 2TB and replace with the SSD. computer wont be able to tell a difference.

When you have checked to make sure everything is there and working correctly you can wipe the 2TB drive and start doing backups to it.

Solution
It seems to me the most sensible approach would be to utilize your new 960 GB SSD to the maximum extent possible as it relates to the possibility of becoming your new boot drive and simultaneously containing most, if not all, of the total data in your system.

But the problem here is that you haven't provided enough information about the amount of total contents of your present system so it's impossible to determine if the above is feasible given your present situation.

So...

1. What is the total data contained on your 250 GB SSD - your boot drive?
2. What is the total data contained on your 2 TB secondary HDD?
3. And, if possible, can you anticipate the volume of data (if any) that you may be adding to the 2 TB HDD in the coming months?
