Is the power supply in a dell inspiron 3847 a standard atx or a dell only psu? i want to buy a larger psu for a gtx 950 sc+

I have a dell inspiron 3847 with an i7-4790, 16gb ddr3, and a 2tb hdd. i would like to upgrade the amd radeon hd 7570 i have to a gtx 950 sc+, but ive heard that dell uses power supplies that are wired differently. is this true?

That DELL should be a standard ATX power supply , so you need to replace it with an OEM sized power supply.

Dells have moved away from proprietary connectors for a while now. It is a standard ATX power supply.

Its to costly for dell to have proprietary PSU and still stay competitive on price. Its been a few years since I played with a HP desktop but the last one I saw wasn't proprietary ether.
