I can buy one of those combinations 4x2gb or 2x4gb of ddr2 ram. I'd prefer to buy two sticks of 4 gigs, but i couldn't find any information that my mobo supports 4gb on one stick. It's the hp compaq 7700 dc. Also what difference will be between those two combos.

Thank you for taking your time and answering me this question, but I actually can install 8gb total, like the Crucial site says and this quickspec assured me http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12543_ca/12543_ca.pdf I was just wondering if I can put 4gb in one slot, now I'm almost 100% sure I can't cause it wasn't listed in this manual, only 4x2gb config was there. Anyway thanks for trying to help.
