I want to buy a hdd that is sata 3. My motherboard is msi 970a-g43 plus. it has got sata 3 plugs but it says that comes with sata 2 cables. I know that it will work but will it get the speed of sata 3? Thank you.

Solution
There won't be any performance difference with the so-called SATA 2 cables. The quality however, may make a tiny difference.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking in the 2nd part of your question. But yes, the pinout is identical. There is no "clock" difference (whatever that is supposed to mean). Didn't you read the link I sent?

Yes. I had allready seen that article but i thinked i should ask in a fórum but idk what i was saying but what i was trying to say is that the sata 2 cable sends a pulse but sata 3 can send 2 pulses in the same time. Thanks

The cable doesn't send any "pulses". It simply encases the wires that carry the digital signal between drive and motherboard.
