First PC BUILD! Tell me what you guys think. I will be using this for 1080p/1440p gaming, music recording/producing, video editing, streaming, 3D modeling, and eventually maybe some Oculus action.

I know i could save money by going with the cooler master evo 212 for cooling but i really like the corsair h100vi2 and want to be able to push the cpu to the max down the road. Also know i could save money with the case, but i really like it. Same with the motherboard, but i wanted the most flexibility to do sli or crossfire down the road.

I chose to go with the GTX 1070 instead of the 1080 because i believe there will be a better option for 4k gaming down the road (cheaper than titan etc) once 4k becomes more mainstream, and the 1070 is obviously capable of handling everything i want to do (even dabbing in some 4k). I chose the asus rog strix version of the card over the g1 extreme gaming version because i prefer asus as a company and many reviews said their performance was pretty even, even though the extreme gaming is listed as a higher base clock etc.

Any other suggestions or potential problems you see?
Thanks!

Isnt the SSD i have already capable of boosting my start up times to about 15-20 seconds? 10x better would be 1.5-2 seconds? Is it really worth double the price? Or am i missing something. Definitely cool but i think i can handle the 15-20second start up. My budget was originally $500 lol so my absolute max is $1400, gotta cut corners some places. i can always add the m2 later on right?

would u like me to make a 1400$ build for ya?

Thanks! max budget is $1400, started at $500, then $900, then $1000, the $1300, now $1400 final lol. What advantages does the Maximus board provide? I think the asus z170a is sufficient for my purposes but ofcourse you didnt know my budget ; ).

I dont think upgrading to 3200 ram is necessary because as far as i know (based on my research) there is no real observable benefit for things i would be doing. Please correct me if I am wrong.

same thing with the m2 solid state, i dont think i need to boot up any faster than 15-20s for twice the price.

I think i only need 1 TB for hard drive but why is the 2 TB black more than double the 1 TB blue series?

The 750w power supply is still gold and not much more so seems like a good switch to me to have some extra power for the future. I really appreciate your help, please work with me a little bit further so i can order this stuff!!!

Thanks for all of your help! I basically kept my exact build except I switched out the memory i picked for the nicer 3200 Gskil you selected as well as the higher wattage power supply for sli or crossfire down the road. You had switched the ASUS ROG Strix version of the GTX 1070 out for a stock asus 1070 which i did not want to do (whether you did intentionally or not im not sure). I did not switch the HD because some of the pricing on partpicker right now is not accurate in terms of missing shipping or minor price changes so i would have been over the $1400 if i did. I am confident that the difference between the two is not that big of a deal and i can always buy a nicer one down the road if necessary. Ended at about $1387 after actually getting everything in purchasing carts. SO PUMPED! here it is:

glad i could help my friend :)
