So I have been having this weird problem for a while where I can only connect on the Internet if my computer was constantly streaming some like YouTube or Skype. I have tried updating all of the drivers for my motherboard and my wifi card but it didn't help. I even recently got a new router and if anything that seemed to have made the problem worse. All the other computers/devices I have are able to connect just fine.
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A
WiFi Card: TP-link TL-WDN4800
Processor: Intel Core I5-4670k

Thank you for your help, and sorry for the delayed response, I was away over the weekend. I tried it out and it worked fine with the ether net cord, and I was able to narrow it down to a faulty wifi card. I ordered a new one (same model) so hopefully that will fix the problem.

Apparently the wifi card was not the issue because I got a new one, and the problem still persists. I have been fumbling around with it for the past few hours and I conceded to the fact that I may have to factory restore my computer. It's not ideal but it's what I think will finally put this ancient problem to rest. Wish me luck.

To all those who may have the same problem as me and could not figure out the solution, I have found it. You will need to purchase a wifi range extender with an ethernet port on it, thanot wire your computer to the range extender. This bypass the wifi card in the computer and instead uses ethernet. I hope this helps all who need it
