I'm having issues finding a motherboard for the processor I want, using the existing hardware that I have. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking at getting an i7 6700k skylake which requires the LGA 1151 socket.

My existing hardware includes:

RAM - 4x8gb, 240 pin Crucial Ballistix Sport

Video cards that need to be in SLI - 2x EVGA GTX 970

750W Corsair power supply.

I need at least 6 SATA connections. And would like 4 USB 3.0 ports if possible.

And I have an ATX tower.

I thing the RAM is the only thing I might need to switch out, but I don't know for sure. I've spent a lot on this rig and I feel the processor switch is the last improvement to make. Can't find anything on the forums for my specific situation. I've looked everywhere!

Solution

Use pcpartpicker if you are in the US/Canada. For other countries do some manual seaching.

It is a CX750. The original power supply from when I was running a single gtx 460 and only 16gb of RAM. I have a little bit to spend. I just got the 32gb of RAM a couple months ago thinking it would help with performance boost, but clearly it didn't. The FX8350, and AMD in general, isn't great at handling FPS games like Arma and audio studio software.

No, unfortunately, they are nto and haven;t been for some time. I strongly suggest that you take a look at one of those PSUs for your new build.

I've already purchased the 850 supernova as of 30 minutes ago.

I have a Samsung evo 850. I have an order for the ripjaw v 16gb, z170 pro gaming, and the processor pending in a cart. Would like to do some price comparisons before I proceed.
