What if my monitor has no USB ports?

I want to plug my speakers in (which are usb supported). My monitors have no usb ports, but it has HDMI, VGA, DVI ports. Are there such adapters out there that convert one of these ports into a USB port? I couldn't seem to find any solutions.

Why do the speakers need to be plugged directly into the monitor?

Normally speakers are plugged into the PC via USB (and sometimes an additional green-tipped wire). That sound will sync with the video being displayed on your monitor just fine.
