Recently my computer has been crashing/freezing while playing certain games. It's not my GPU as I have replaced it 3 times because I was told that that was the issue and if I replaced my GPU all of my problems would magically disappear, however this did not happen. If anyone knows what could be causing this, I would love your insight. I have tried moving my computer to an open area in order to improve the air flow so that it does not overheat, however I don't know if that helped or not. Like I said, any help is appreciated as I have no clue what I am doing.

Solution
List all of your hardware. Download HW monitor for an actual reading of your temps and not just you moved your computer to a better air flow spot.

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H (I think)
CPU - AMD A10-7700K Radeon R7
RAM - 8GB
GPU - GTX 970
600W Power Supply

Not sure if that's everything you need. :/

Ok, make sure to get HW monitor and keep it running while you play a game that you think won't freeze. This is so you can tab out or exit the game and then check HW to see what your temps look like. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Hi there TheRealSandusky,

I would totally agree with codygriffy. You really do need to check your system's temps with a software tool.
Also, you can observe Resource Monitor during these freezes. See if there is high usage of something.

I believe you've updated your GPU drivers right?

Running some stress testing will not hurt as well.

Let us know how this goes,
