[SOLVED] Mac os x utility says this item is temporarily unavailable

So im new to the mac world i bought this macbook off a friend made sure no icloud or fire vault on it everything was good then took it home did a factory reset when i try to install mac os x on utility it asks for my apple id which i put in the same for my iphone then it prompts me with the "this item is temporarily unavailable " i tried that internet recovery mode it does not work for me im bout to cry cause its stressing me out (not really) but its bothering me i need deep help please its a mid 2010 macbook pro el captain im pretty sure the issue is because im a new mac user my apple id is not associated with a mac os but idk i need help please bless me

I'd ask him and see. It's unlikely that someone is going to forget an Id in that way.

Other options? Yes - contact Apple; they should be able to help you after checking that the computer has not been reported as being stolen.

Get your friend to do the install for you using his Apple Id. You are correct that the problem is because you are using an Id that is not associated with an OS X install. After he reinstalls OS X it will be in the factory fresh state and you can register it with your Id.

I guess part of the reasoning for this process is that it acts as a guard against theft.

worse case scenario he forgets it or it doesnt work do i have other options?

does it have to be the person i bought it from or it can be from someone who also has os x on there apple id account im really screwed the person who i bought it from is not responding

I honestly don't know the answer to that (i.e. is the account locked to a particular machine). I can only suggest that you try it and see. There's no licensing issue here, as the machine was originally supplied with OS X, but I don't know if any checks are done against serial numbers when re-installing the OS.
