Can i overclock my E2180 with just 1GB of RAM and a really old build?

This PC is about 6 or 7 years old. A lot of dust has gotten into the case and its really noisy. The CPU still looks in good shape, will overclocking to atleast 2.6 / 2.8 GHZ improve the build overall without buying any components?

Specs:
MSI MS-7387
Intel Pentium E2180
1GB DDR2 RAM
Stock cooling
Stock power supply(250W)
Samsung HDD 160GB
Windows 7

If your motherboard supports overclocking then you can. You'll most likely have to upgrade the CPU cooling with an 800mhz overclock. You may also have to upgrade the PSU as an overclocked cpu will draw more power.
You wont notice much more performance as your 1gb of ram is really slowing down the system.

Thanks for the response KeelinTy. Turns out the mobo does not support overclocking, there is no way of changing the CPU frequency. I Tried to download and install an updated BIOS for this motherboard but this did not work. Too bad, i read that these processors are 'highly' overclockable. My only option now is to purchase more RAM which is cool.
