Windows 10 is ending some of my games saying there's not enough available RAM when I have enough in the system

So I recently got a pretty much brand new rig. (Kept my PSU and GPU from my old one, upgraded everything else) and I've put 8gb of HyperX Fury DDR4 2133Mhz RAM into it. When I launch some games that use around 2-2.2gb of RAM and over, it crashes them fairly often saying I don't have enough available memory to keep them running. Even though I've checked in task manager while they were running and my RAM is only at around 60-75% depending on the game.

The error message it gives me is as follows:

'Close programs to prevent information loss

Your computer is low on memory. Save your files and close these programs:
(The game I have running, eg Overwatch)'

It doesn't crash the game every time and it also doesn't crash at the same point either. Sometimes I can load fully into a game and play for a few minutes before a crash. Other times it will just about get into the menus and it will crash.

Any help would be great. I can't play like half my games because of this weird issue.

Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 6500 3.2Ghz Quad-Core
GPU: XFX AMD Radeon r9 380 (Stock)
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 2133Mhz (2x4gb)
Storage: WD Blue 1tb and Samsung 850 Evo 250gb
PSU: Aerocool Intergrator 700W Bronze
Mobo: MSI Gaming M3 H170

We were going to install a fresh copy. But we assembled it and tried a boot and windows just recognised the new hardware and started up. Think that could be the problem? Or is it more likely a memory leak?

I'm pretty sure thats the problem.

Windows when installed configures itself to your system. While you got lucky when it booted theres all sorts of things there that are tied to your old setup. You need to re-install windows first.

Windows 10 RAM Issues

Windows 10 has ongoing issues with RAM usage. No matter the device or Windows 10 version, there have been numerous reports of the operating system decimating system memory with intensive processes. We’ve given Windows 10 its own little section to help you find the issue at hand!

Generally, when quoting another article verbatim, it is customary to put that in "quotes", or other delineation.
So that we know that "we" doesn't mean you.

As well without a clean Windows install to his newly built system diagnosing a memory leak like that is like trying to nail jello to the wall. Any number of things can cause itdue to the mixed up system settings.

A clean windows install should be the first step here, that may well and very likely will cure the issue.

DDU'd my drivers and got the latest Crimson drivers from AMD. Seems to have fixed it. Been playing Overwatch for a bit now without a crash. \0/

Update: Never mind. It just crashed a few minutes after I posted this, guess I have to get a copy of Windows from somewhere

Are you running Windows 10 as an update to your previous windows install? you can carry that license over to the new build.

I am yeah, upgraded it a while ago from windows 7.
Followed that link, but when I get to the Troubleshoot option. It says 'unable to activate windows': We can't continue troubleshooting as an unexpected error occured (0x80079422)
