Hello,

I currently use an AMD A8-7600 along with 2×4 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM (no discrete GPU) and I've been reading about how APUs like mine can benefit greatly from faster RAM. So I was planning to upgrade and have two questions-

1) Exactly how much of an fps increase can I expect in games from my A8-7600 when using a 2×4GB 2133 Mhz setup as compared to my current 1600 Mhz setup?

2) What would I need to do to install the new 2133 Mhz sticks? Do I simply plug them in and they're ready to go or would I need to go into BIOS and manually set their frequencies and latencies? And what about drivers?

I use a Gigabyte F2A68HM-S1 motherboard, a 500 Watt PSU and am running Windows 10 if that helps.

Thanks!

if you buy new ram, it will automatically pair with the motherboard. No extra settings are needed, (unless you have issues). Also I see that your motherboard can handle 2133mhz ram, so that's not an issue either.

in reality... you are looking at a couple of FPS.. at most... really depends on the game, if a game is really RAM hungry, then you'll get a better gain if not, then you wont even get anything out of it really.

If you want an upgrade, why don't you give the full specs of your build and your budget, as well as your goals.

APU's like the A8 7600 take take a good deal of advantage from higher ram speeds, but don't expect miracles. No offense but you made a very bad choice purchasing the A8 7600 to begin with. You could list your system specs and budget as @gussrtk has asked above.

Actually I'm not looking for a complete upgrade or something. But just trying to decide if buying two 4GB 2133 sticks would help my current system or not. Like if they help me get a 6-7 fps boost on average then I'd go buy them
