Screen tearing in firefox

So i bought a new gpu (gtx 1060) and everything is fine so far

but one thing that's annoying me that my previous card didnt have a problem with is screen tearing in browsers.

Both firefox and chrome have screen tearing when i'm scrolling down a page. It seems to be fixed in chrome by enabling hardware acceleration, but that doesn't work for firefox.

Anyone know how to fix?

Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options on Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux.
Select the Advanced panel and then the General tab.
Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
Restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

and yes, I just got this from google! I am trying everything I can mate!

doesn't work, i've tried with it both on and off.
