Hi. Want to improve my gaming rig. Was thinking that I should upgrade my GPU and CPU Current Build:
i7-4790 with stock fan
Asus z97-pro gaming
Nvidia GTX 760 Ti OEM
Corsair CX 450
16GB Ram
256GB SSD
2TB HDD
(Windows 10)

Games I play: League of Legends, H1Z1, Just Cause 3, CS:GO (If it matters: from Norway)

Budget: 620$ Someone told me I should get a new GPU and PSU, just wanted to confirm that this is what I should upgrade. Was looking at the gtx 1060 (althought I don't know which brand, tips?)
and no idea what PSU I should go for!
Any help is appreciated

is the lettering on your CX450 grey or green?
if it's grey you're fine
otherwise look for a XFX (except the XT) or a Seasonic for little budget
or an EVGA G2, GS or Corsair RMx/RMi for more budget

a 1060 would be nice. as for brands, doesn't quite matter. in Scandinavia Palit / Gainward is usually easy to come by and fairly cheap
all the 1060s boost to the roughly same clock speed

I agree that all you would need to upgrade is the GPU and power supply. The CPU is still strong and you do NOT need to upgrade it. Since you have about $600 for the upgrade, I would think about the GTX 1070, especially if 1440p is what you currently or in near future will game at. If you are sticking with 1080p gaming, then yes I would go with the 6gb GTX 1060. As for power supply, buy the best you can afford on the higher tiers from this list: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html Good luck.

Its green. Is the EVGA supernova G2 850W good? was looking at it and it fits my budget with a evga 1060 sc 6gb!
On another note: I still have some place on my budget and was thinking of a better fan, tips? :)

Your CPU could handle a 1070 if you wanted and that would cruise through on the games you mentions. <edit> see comments on psu above> The CPU is pretty good honestly and unless you are planning to move to a 6k processor I don't think there would be a lot of benefit. Plus it would really crimp your GPU budget. So I'd stick with just the GPU and maybe a PSU if the quality is not there.

Solution

the RM is a Tier3 unit if you want to put PSUs into categories.
other than the RMx or RMi it's far from good quality

yes, the Supernova G2 is very good.
but 850W is the wattage you need to SLI 2x GTX1080s.
you can save your money and get the 550W (or 650W as it's sometimes cheaper) unit.

for fans I suggest a Noctua fan like the NF-14A / NF-P14 or for strict vertical mounting the Phanteks F140XP/TS
