Hello all,

This afternoon I benched my gpu, HIS R9 Nano 4GB (H395F4G3D), on a testbench with Valley Benchmark 4.0 and I got a descent score.

I came back home, plugged the nano in my own rig and it doesnt get past the point of error code d6, which means: The VGA could not be recognized. Please clear CMOS and try re-installing the VGA card. If the problem still exists, please try installing the VGA card in other slots or use other VGA cards.

I did all of the above, cleared cmos, refitted in a different slot, waiting an half an hour with everything unplugged and refitting it back. Still I get error d6. Also I can't try onboard gpu, because my cpu doesn't support onboard.

My specs are:
- Asrock Z97 Extreme4
- Intel Xeon E3-1231V3 3.4GHz 8MB Smart Cache, L3
- G.Skill TridentX F3-2666C11D-16GTXD
- HIS R9 Nano 4GB (H395F4G3D)
- Corsair RM1000
- Bootdrive: Intenso 128GB SSD SATAIII Top
- Secondary drive: Mushkin Triactor 240GB

Thank you for reading.

Solution
well don't know seems thatys a newer board and should be fine , but there is a bios that calls out '' VGA card compatibility ''

now maybe you need to see is your bios is that or higher / later and not a older one ??

2.00 4/30/2015 Instant Flash 5.62MB 1.Improve DRAM and VGA card compatibility
2.Add NVME support

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme4/?cat=Download&os=BIOS

if its older then that 2.00 or like most asrocks they ship with there first release on them [all mine did ] yopu masy just need to check if you need to flash up to a supporting bios for the card compatibility

just to add if you cant display and you never flashed the bios form what asrock put on it out of the box from the factory you can look at...

[this board shipped with bios 1.00 [first release]

Thank you for the reply. Prior to the nano I had a 390x nitro. I updated everything with that. Current version is v2.5.
I tried the nano on a different rig and worked good.

So this morning I made a swap and got a Asus strix 1070. Its boosting this system to the core.

That was my bet too, however the nitro was crahing on the spot too But with the nvidia I had zero crash.
I thought maybe there is a incompatibility with other hardware.
