My PC will randomly go to a black screen. Capslock keys do not light up while it is on the black screen. Nor does any audio play.

It is not sleep mode because I have been actively been typing up documents before when it happened. I could be watching youtube and it will go black, or typing up a text document. It has happened mid game once.

The LEDs stay on, as well as the entire pc, but the monitor goes black. (It doesnt say it lost connection to the gpu either)

Pls help.

Specs:
Monitor: Asus vs238h-P 23" 2ms Widescreen LCD
Mobo: Asus z97-E
cpu: i7 4790k
GPU: r9 390 sapphire
ram: 16gbs
case Rosewill Blackhawk
PSU: Evga supernova 2 750watt
os: windows 10

So the pc did it again. just a random crash to a black screen. Im thinking maybe the mobo or gpu has some physical issue. i will clean out my pc (its already pretty clean) and see if that helps.

P.S accidentally hit best answer again.

Update: Cleaned out the pc, and switched the monitor to a spare. If it blackscreens now, then I know its the pc, if it doesnt its the montior

I have tried a 2nd older monitor (that i know works 100% becuase it was my old one and worked faithfully and still does for years) But even this monitor was fine for a month, and now (while hooked up to the trouble pc) is having the same issue, no loss of signal, capslock key/numlock, dont light up on the mobo, and only a hard reset fixes it.

So i know it is either Software, The Gpu, The Mobo, or the PSU. and i have no idea what to do, becuase i dont know if they will accept an RMA becuase if they test it, it will work fine. the issues only occur weeks/months later.

I have no idea what to do,
