Can't decide which 1080 to SLI..

Hello, I'm having issues deciding which two 1080 cards I want to SLI due to not having much knowledge on the topic.

My two choices are

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0

or

ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX OC Edition

I'm interested in the RGB features aesthetically..

I really like the EVGA FTW but the out of box clocks are slower than the ASUS Strix.

Can I overclock the EVGA FTW to the same out of box clocks as the strix with the same temperatures or would it be better to go with the Strix?

I've read ASUS has terrible customer support but if I could go with the EVGA FTW and get stable temperatures with a similar clock speed I would choose that in a flash.

I'm mainly looking for the best performance between the two cards without making a risky investment, I'd appreciate someone with extensive knowledge on the subject to give me some insight before I purchase, thank you.

Solution
FTW

It should Boost well by itself. Do 2 slot spacing if possible for temps. So instead of them being right next to eachother, you space em out. You can get HB bridges that support that too

one thing to consider is that cards will get hotter than single card performance. if you have space, having 3-FAN Asus strix would keep things cooler.
the OC version of the strix also provides binned chips which mean higher clock speeds are guaranteed. and if you are willing to manually OC the EVGA to get Asus speeds, means you can manually OC the Asus as well to get even higher speeds!

Both cards are gonna boost over 2000 MHz, silicon lottery. The ftw can be oc'd over 2100 MHz as well, and it has a better warranty, so even if you don't OC it's still gonna be running like the strix. Your choice, both are pretty much exactly the same as far as lottery goes, but the evga card has better support for sure

Yeah, honestly, since you care more about aesthetics and EVGA is better in warranty and customer support, I would go for the EVGA ACX 3.0. Good luck!
