Well... 1060 is gonna really outperform a 1050... The 3Gb is good for now, but God knows the games keep asking for more and more. 1060 is the better for 1080p, a couple years down the road it'll be better to have the faster card.

Full details and longer lifetime -> GTX1060
High details now -> 1050Ti (but here we need to wait for benchmarks).

Either way both would be several times faster than your current 750Ti. In your case I'd go for 1050Ti. Unless you watch the TV screen really close, it's likely you won't be able to see any difference between high and full details in live 3D environment. With TV as a main display it's likely you are not requiring solid 60FPS+ and don't mind it gets a bit lower.

If you really want to down into business, a GTX 1070 is going to be the best for 1080p, It will max out just about anything without breaking a sweat. If you're really hard for cash a 1060 would still be the way to go, it will still give you the ability to play the games on good-high settings at 60+fps. The 1050 is the new budget card that is coming out soon, it is intended for budget PC's to people who wouldn't be considered "enthusiasts" At $109 its hard to beat that price tag with power.

In summation a 1050 will give you decent gaming power, a 1060 would be a lot better, but a 1070 would be best for 1080p.
