New motherboard and a new Q9550. As described it successfully posts then hangs at the logo where I can press delete and nothing happens. I switched CPU to an E8400 started successfully and checked that the bios was updated, it had the latest update already.
TL;DR - The motherboard is compatible with the CPU and has the latest bios update. Boots and runs fine with another old CPU. Could the new CPU be DOA?
Resetting Cmos also did not change anything
