LGA2011 CPU into a 1511 motherboard?

So i bought a LGA2011 i7 CPU and i was told it would fit into a 1511 motherboard?? is that true? i am new to computers

No, they are not compatible. Do not even try, you'll damage the cpu and/or motherboard.
You'll have to get an LGA2011 Motherboard. Please check which cpu model did you buy because there are two sockets: LGA2011 and LGA2011v3.
