Hi All,
I don't hear to much about it apart from of course the i7 will be better for gaming, even more so in the age of direct x12.
However my question is;
is there a actual real life scenario performance boost to playing games through VR using an i7 compared to an i5.

I would like to get some answers with people not responding about well maybe if you used this graphics card or played the game using vulkan.
just simple and easy the cpu is the only different component, imagine it had the same power supply, the same graphics card, everything.

Thanks everyone.

Unfortunately, there is no "true" answer to that kind of question. It will depend on the exact game you're playing, the settings you play on, and more. At best, the difference won't be much more than the i7 being 30% faster. We don't know how close to 30% (if at all) it will be.

It would be entirely game dependent on whether there was a difference or not.
If the game requires a lot physics processing (like, figuring out how a VR Jenga tower falls down) or is a large open world (like GTAV) than it requires/benefits from more CPU power.

Otherwise there's no difference, and currently VR games are pretty simple fair.

I understand it can be abit hard since it does heavily really on the program.
I guess this is another way to put it;
Does vr benefit from extra computing performance/cores at all or is it all gpu bound.

Lets say since far cry 4 uses 4 cores no, lets say it came to vr/ would it help having at least the one more core to help process the vr or is it simply all on the gpu side
