Hi, so I recently defragged the harddrive and ran malwarebytes on my pretty ancient PC and found a great little performance boost. I was running overwatch at 60-70 fps at medium whereas previously to the defrag + malware scan I was running at around 45 on absolutely minimum everything. I installed BF4 last night to give it another crack and went to play this morning and it just wouldnt run, went back onto overwatch and it was running at around 3 fps, couldnt do a thing. I defragged again but to no change, then i restarted the PC and it ran fine. I started up another game on overwatch and halfway through it went straight back to 3 FPS out of nowhere. I dont really know what to do next. I have monitored CPU temps with openhardware monitor as other threads have suggested with similar problems but doesnt seem to be rising above 40. What should I do next?

As your FPS was affected from the HDD defragmentation.
Then I believe this FPS drop could be related to the HDD as well. This is why, you can back up the data stored on it and test the drive: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
See if there are any pending/reallocated and uncorrectable sectors in the SMART report.
