There are 32 bit and 64 bit installs of office. It may depend on the particular license you have, but I think you can install either one - as long as you're only installing it on 1 computer.

What exactly did you back up? Files made in any version of Office should work on any version of office. As for the actual program, though, I am not sure if Microsoft makes separate 32-bit and 64-bit versions, so I am not sure if copying the executable over will just work. It will probably require activation, anyway, so I would not expect the program itself to work if you just copy it from one machine to another.
