Hello, I was just wondering if anyone with more tech knowledge could help me out. I am going to be getting Battlefield 1 when it comes out and I was just wondering if my build is ok, and if not what I could change to better it.

Build:

Motherboard - Gigabyte H87-HD3 Motherboard
GPU - MSI NVIDIA GTX 970
CPU - Intel i5 4670k
RAM - 8GB

Any help is much appreciated :)

You'll be able to run the game with Ultra settings. Your next upgrade I would see is to upgrade your memory but it's sufficient enough for now without any bottlenecks. Don't listen to them. I have a R7 260X and was able to run Medium at 40FPS AVG. So youll do just fine. However I'd recommend to turn off any post settings. It kills FPS and makes everything blurry so turn them off.
Yes itll be ok at 1080p60 pretty much ultra

No, because:

970 isn't the best GPU for this build. better off with a newer 1060 or actually RX 480, which performs well in BF1
The H87 will not allow you to overclock that 4670k. you need a Z board

I assume this is being bought second hand? you could maybe do better with the money building new, unless this is a crazy good deal.

Hey, thanks for replying.

This is the build I have currently on my PC :D I was just wondering if it would be capable for the game and what I would need to improve. I don't know much about motherboards, would investing in a new one be worth it? and overclocking the CPU?

This computer will be able to run bf1 on low. The next bottle neck is Ram. At min you need 8gb. The recommended is 16gb. The next bottleneck is your GPU. It is below the recommended level, but above min. Processor is good.

In all, your computer can run bf1, however, you may want to think about upgrading the ram to 16gb and the GPU. Those are the only two upgrades you need unless you need a bigger PSU for the new GPU (which i doubt)

I got the early edition for bf1. Game is absolutely amazing.

I use game-debate.com, they are normally pretty accurate. I believe they go off of playing at 60fps. Even so i highly doubt he will be able to play on ultra and have a joyable experience. As soon as an explosion happens his fps will drop significantly.

A GTX 970 will run Battlefield 1 at High/Ultra settings at 1080p/60fps. You would only need to upgrade your PC for Battlefield 1 if you wanted to play at a higher resolution such as 1440p. In that case the RAM would need to be upgraded to 16GB and the GPU would probably need to be at least a GTX 980 Ti or a GTX 1070.

Thank you all for the help! I have ordered some more RAM just to be safe and will look into upgrading other components in the future.

Thanks again for all the responses :p They have been super helpful!
