I'm using an r9 380 in my build and at first it seemed really good, getting ~70-100 fps in most of my games on high/ultra. Which was great. But now it seems to (seemingly at random) just potato on me and give me like 35-40 fps in these exact same games. Even on lower settings than what I was getting 80 or so on before.

I've tried updating my drivers and using DDU and installing the latest ones to no avail. It seems to only do this sometimes. Like, some days it'll be fine the whole night. Other times it'll potato on me for the night or just a bit of the night. It seems pretty random.

Any help on this would be great. I can barely play any of my favorite games because of this.

Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 6500 3.2Ghz Quad-Core
GPU: XFX AMD Radeon r9 380 (Stock)
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 2133Mhz (2x4gb)
Storage: WD Blue 1tb and Samsung 850 Evo 250gb
PSU: Aerocool Intergrator 700W Bronze
Mobo: MSI Gaming M3 H170

I notice the same last year in games like csgo. Some games are bad at handling memory and I purchased a 16GB kit which fixed all my issues. Granted 24GB's is a lot to play games but there are other things you can try.
I suggest running advanced system care to shut down all windows services you dont need. This should give a bit more memory. Also let it scan for bad reg settings should help.

This is a long shot!!! But I was kinda having the same problem but what was wrong for me was missing system files and broken system registry structures that is typically caused by improper maintenance of the computer. (I had a a lot of power surges).

Just check to see if there is any errors with the windows repair tool. Mine was error 0x490
