Hi guys new to tomshardware and just built I new that PC desktop with the following spec:

PC keeps restarting and its usually after I upgrade my graphics driver. This is a new PC build I built from all the parts listed below.

CPU: i5 6600k (with PC cooler: silenx 18 dBA attached)
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 DirectX 12 GTX 1070 AERO 8G OC 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP
Motherboard: MSI z170a GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151
Storage: western digital 500g
Power supply: EVGA 500w
Operating system: Windows 10 64 bit
Case: antec three hundred mini tower gaming case

Ps: no ssd installed was gonna purchase later when everything was working fine.

I have gotten to the point where I could install my drivers for everything except my graphics card. When I start the driver setup for my graphics card it starts to go through the process of locating the type of graphics card and then immediately restarts and keeps restarting when the windows loading icon pops up. Gets to the point windows starts to diagnose and I end up having to restore and download all my drivers again.

There was a time I was able to download the latest driver but it ended up doing the same thing again. It just kept on rebooting and sending me to the startup repair window for windows.

Anyway I can fix this?

Ill check but i want to say there were some pins sticking up but i dont think they are damaged. I will take my Cooler off and see if thats the problem.

Just tried to remove cooler and still same results. I also noticed that the GT voltage was at 0.008 at one time. And now the GT voltage isn't even showing

You... removed the cooler altogether and tried? Thats really not a good idea lol. I meant installed too tightly, as in screwed to the backplate, but booting without any cooler is dangerous. Always have a cooler attached. Just tighten it gently, and dont screw it down too hard. You should really take the chip out and check the socket.. even post a pic if you can.

Also, it may be that you have a faulty PSU. Are both power leads (4/8pin and 20/24 pin) attached to the MB properly?

Yea, I put it back on after first test didn't want to mess up anything. I do believe everything is connected properly. I honestly think its my graphics card. Ill try a new PSU when I have funds coming in. my friend is allowing me to see if I can put my graphics card into their system to see if its the problem. (I really think it is.) Every time I try to use the graphics card in any way, even if I try to use GPU-Z to check everything it immediately shuts off and reboots.
