i wonder if overclocking custom card like MSI gaming X gtx 1060 6gb to 2100 will make it perform better(have higher FPS) than custom msi gaming x rx 480 8gb in dx 12 titles ?

Solution
The RX 480 doesn't always perform better than the GTX 1060 in DirectX 12 titles. It depends on the game and whether it favors AMD or Nvidia just like DirectX 11. Gears of War 4 is an example of a recent release where the 1060 does better than the 480 in DirectX 12.

If you are gaming at 1080p either choice will be fine. I personally would go with a 1060 just because it performs more consistently across all games while the RX 480 mostly shines in DX12 and Vulkan games. The 1060 will still be above 60 FPS and sometimes higher than the RX 480 in most DX 12 games but it also does significantly better than the RX 480 in many DX11 and OpenGL games.

really can't decide between msi gaming gtx 1060 6gb(~260~270$) or msi gaming x rx 480 4gb(amazing /attractive price at ~220$) or msi gaming x rx 480 8gb(~270$)
i will play on 1080p monitor
i like in gtx 1060 it is cooler and have higher overclocking potential and close to rx 480 in dx 12 (about less 5% to 10%) and better drivers and dx11 performance and faster
but gtx 480 is tempting with its price at 4gb (i know its memory have less speed at 7100mhz) and have more future proof and aging as it better at dx12 as it hardware optimize for dx 12 but it hotter and have less overclocking potential and for 8gb version there are some on net say that for mid range card and 1080p it is not worth
what to do? please help?

About future proofing, however, the GTX 1060 does not support SLI, but the RX 480 allows for CrossfireX, assuming you have a a capable motherboard and PSU. Also, for monitors, Nvidia's GSync is a pretty penny to add, whereas AMD's FreeSync has almost no premium.
