So I'm looking to build my first PC from scratch. I have a Zotac GTX 1070 founders edition I just picked up at a great price. I'm hoping to build around it. From my research I noticed that blower style GPUs can work better in smaller cases so I was thinking a mini-ITX would a) look nice b) be portable c) be compatible. Budget is not really an issue and I am in no rush to complete the project as it will take several months.

Questions:
Am I on point with thinking this GPU will work in a mini-ITX? Is there a reason I should go for a larger case?
What are the best mini ITX cases out (or coming out)?
What build would you recommend?

Side note: since I am in no rush, when is the best time to buy components? Do they often go on sale around christmas/black friday? I'm Canadian if that helps.

Thanks for any help, I greatly appreciate it! I love learning about this stuff so any knowledge I can gather for this project is more than welcome.

thats not the best idea to buy a founder edition for a gpu card ...but anyway

``Budget is not really an issue``
why you bought a cheap gpu card??

your gpu card have 266.7mm lenght so your mini itx case have to fit your gpu in it

you have to check the maximum cpu cooler height that your pc case can store

from that you can begin to looking for a pc case

let me a minute or two and ill be back
