Is this a good deal on a GTX 980?

Solution
I'd just stay with the 970 until you can sell it for $200 and are able to afford the 1070 at $389 as a result.
Get $189 in the bank then sell your 970 for a 1070. :)
The upgrade is so tiny that you'll likely not see a difference between the two cards realistically.
It is more hassle than it is worth frankly.
That is NOT a good upgrade.
A 6GB 1060 new will cost you $249 and perform on par with a 980 with better optimization.
If you're going to upgrade from a 970 you'll only see a small boost to performance, if you're going to upgrade at all go to a 980ti or 1070.

My assumption is that after selling my card this upgrade may cost me $25 or so. I know the increase will be minimal but so will the cost. But selling my card and getting the 1060 may be an option.
