I just built a new system. I fired it up. Monitor worked through my gpu. Keyboard and mouse worked through USB. I booted into the bios. RAM was working, and the cpu temp was holding steady at 42°C. I was pleased. Then I used the Asrock internet bios update, which seemed to work fine. After a couple of progress bars it requested that I install a usb drive, which I did. It loaded something onto that, and then rebooted. Never again have I been able to see my monitor, keyboard, or mouse (even if i use onboard graphics).

I switched to bios 2, the back-up, and still nothing.
I tried to clear cmos, and still nothing.
I'm lost now.

My hardware is:
Asrock z170 extreme 7+
Intel 6700K
Corsair Dominator Platinum 3000 8x2
XFX RX 480
Corsair H110i GT
Corsair RM850i
Plextor m.2 drives x 2 (irrelevant at this point)

To switch to the back-up, you flip the slider from bios 1 to bios 2. That didn't work. Power comes on to video card and cpu cooler, but still no keyboard or monitor.

Thanks for the ideas folks, but I called Asrock tech support today. After running through some checks with them they waived the white flag and directed me to RMA the board. Something about the bios flash jacked up the chipset beyond all hope.
