Hi!

I am getting upgrades for my computer and don't just comment saying oh you should upgrade your motherboard for intel or some crap like that i don't care! But anyways, the current graphics card I have is: Nvidia Geforce 730 and the CPU I have is the: AMD A6-6400K at 3.90 GHz. My motherboard is the Gigabyte F2A88X-D3H. I am looking to upgrade to one of these CPU's: AMD Athlon X4 860K or the 880K just tell me if they fit and the graphics cards I am looking to choose from is: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB FTW GAMING ACX 2.0+ or the EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB FTW GAMING.
Please don't say anything about any other suggestions because this is what I want to choose from just tell me which ones fit and which ones don't.

If I follow correctly here are the specifications for your motherboard:

https://www.google.com/shopping/product/2471469044990061434/specs?sclient=psy-ab&biw=1600&bih=783&q=Motherboard+Gigabyte+F2A88X-D3H&oq=Motherboard+Gigabyte+F2A88X-D3H&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.&tch=1&ech=1&psi=XkwJWJ2GL8LujwSUuLCYBw.1477005389614.3&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjwpdDywerPAhWX8oMKHdSuDdcQuC8IlwE

So your CPU must be Socket FM2+

and the GPU must be one of these :1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 ( FM2+ processor must be installed ) 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 ( x4 mode ) 3 x PCIe 2.0 x1 2 x PCI

Verify that the desired CPU(s) and GPU(s) match the specifications and you should be able to select accordingly.

The following link indicates that the AMD Athlon X4 860 will fit...

Note: "Compatible Processor SocketSocket FM2+"

Anyway just verify my "finding" and then go through the same process for the other candidate components. That way you can be sure about the details.

I also recommend that you check the various specifications via a couple of different websites. Sometimes sellers just cut, paste, and edit some similar specification sheet and then there are errors of omission or commission.

Yah those speccifications work. So do they all work? Or liek which one should I get

"Like" is subjective....

Provided that the specifications are all correct then then the components should work.

I tend to be cautious about "specifications": for example something may be USB 3.0 "compatible" but only because the plug fit in a USB 3.0 port.....

After truly satisfying specifications it becomes a matter of budget, plans for future growth, warranties, etc....

In other words, what are your requirements?

Badboyrog2 provided a very direct answer. Caveat being the need for a "good CPU cooler". If the cooler is a viable option for you then those components would be your choice.

Otherwise, step back and re-evaluate with whatever criteria is applicable to your requirements and circumstances.

So the EVGA geforce 950 is PCIE x 16 so will that fit? I do have an FM2+. But can you j ust tell me if they all fit or which ones don't? That is all I want

Is the following link correct with respect to the stated GPU?

https://www.google.com/shopping/product/15889781761261598225/specs?sclient=psy-ab&q=evga+geforce+950&oq=EVGA+geforce+950&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.&bvm=bv.136593572,d.cWw&biw=1600&bih=783&tch=1&ech=1&psi=iHMLWJrEF8yi-AHJqKSIAQ.1477145481695.3&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiq7fXoy-7PAhVD4D4KHXuLDowQuC8ImgE

If so, note that the Bus Type is "PCI Express 3.0 x16"

And the motherboard specifications indicate that the motherboard has that expansion slot: "1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 ( FM2+ processor must be installed )".

Note the requirement for the FM2+ processor.

Again, the GPU will fit but it might not function or fully function without the required processor. The same consideration holds for any component being installed. Details matter and therefore you must read and double check specifications very carefully.

However, my conclusion at this point would be that since you have the FM2+ then the EVGA geforce 950 will fit. And will work as expected.

So the 950 will fit, the athlon x4 860k will fit (Fm2+), and then the 960 4gb will fit I think right? (http://bit.ly/2eatVDg) so then I can go with the Athlono X4 860K and the 960 4GB and that will give me good frames for fm2+?

On paper- yes.

However specifications tend to be a mix of ideal testing circumstances and some marketing speak functionality that may not be viable in real use.

No experience with that configuration. You might look for some component reviews and benchmark tests to learn what "good frames" might really be.

Plus software plays a role - an inefficient program or O/S could slow things down.

Perhaps someone else reading this thread will be able to comment accordingly.
