Okay yeah holy shit. xD
Save up till the 1080ti releases then either PM one of us or make another thread and notify me, i'll suggest a new rig for you with a 7700k if kaby lake is out by then and a killer monitor.
The GTX 1080 will do just as good of a job, at a much lower price. When wearing a VR headset, framerate doesn't matter that much as long as it stays up at the display rate of the head piece. No need to make more frames than the head piece can display.
Depends on your budget.....
Both are great for VR, but if you're doing a big investment into graphics cards, like $1000, i'd wait for the 1080tis to release.

When I upgrade from my gtx 970, it'll be for the best card for vr. Assuming vr is looking for mainstream, more games, when the new 1080 ti comes out.
