Sad day: Which 1070 is the best?

Was wondering which 1070 is best to buy.

I have two displays and don't run in fullscreen that often as much as borderless. I like AAA eye candy games. I figured it's upgrade proof for 1080p and will last long enough for really good 4K cards to come out. For those reasons, I chose 1070 over 1060.

Why a sad day? My MSI R7970 Lightning died today..Red horizontal lines were all over the display and before I knew it, Windows crashed into white and black vertical lines, and then it crashed 4/5 every time I started in normal mode. It's been a good four years

With the recent memory issues some card have had I would go with a gigabyte card as they don't use the a bad brand of memory.

having read all the reviews i can say that not a single card was "better" than the others. just avoid the founder's edition card and you can't go wrong

I'm not nearly surprised by the memory issue as much as the hate between ATI and nVidia. I knew everyone had their preference, but wow.

the memory thing is not really an issue as the fix is already out. but haters gonna hate i guess. just nab the new bios for whatever card you buy when you install it and move on like the rest of the world.

just like the motherboard power draw of the rx 480 cards. was quickly fixed and was never really an issue. but folks still love to bring it up. it's best to just ignore those folks and hope they just go away on their own

but really as already noted, any of the cards are gonna give you the same performance. grab the one that fits your build and is priced right. also note from the list of cards i linked to, there is a wide variety of pcie power needs. make sure your psu has the right connections for the one you chose.

Ah I see now. It might make it easier to choose EVGA then so I can test out the 1060 and step up to the 1070 if I need to. Not sure if Giga has that kind of program.

the evga cards are always solid cards. not massively large either so will fit in smaller spaces.
