Hi guys and girls. I just watched a video on how much a cpu can bottleneck a GPU and i found that the results are a considerable amount. The reason i am starting this thread is because after the video i started to wonder if i am bottle necking the performance of my EVGA 1080 FTW. I use a i7-4790k @ 4.6 GHz, also was wondering if anyone knows of any software that i can view the information of my processor in window 10 64 bit. CPU Z does not work for me in this version of windows. So does anyone know if i am loosing out on FPS with my current processor. Please let me know.. thank you.

let me guess... a digital foundry video. people give far too much weight to cpu bottlenecks. if you have any recent overclocked i7 then there is no bottleneck. absolutely you could gain some fps if you compare your cpu to a 6800k@5.5ghz, but its unrealisitic.

Here is the link to the video, it is a youtube channel that is hosted by a guy named JayZtwocents. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhDuAN0ouoE. he is using a AMD processor to show how it can drastically lower the FPS benchmark results. Hey does anyone know of a program that works with windows 10 64 bit operating system that show your cpu information. CPU Z does not work for me on 10 64 bit.

I had to ask if i was bottle necking i just always have uncertainty in my mind it is a curse. thanks for helping me. what i was thinking was with a faster processor i would be getting more FPS. but i think that is not how it works i think that you can only lower fps not increase it, if you are not stoping it from running at 100%.
