Hello.

I have an external hard drive, 1 TB. Toshiba and when I plugged it in it clicked a bit and couldn't be recognized. So I unplugged it and replugged it back in and it worked. Is this a storm in the distance I should prepare fore or was I just being impatient?

Hi there crabswrabies,

As just Hellfire13 suggested, it could have been related to the connection. Sometimes, externals make clicking sounds when not enough power is supplied.
Another reason could be that the drive has some mechanical issues. In many cases, when those occur, it's too late to save the data. So, just back up your important stuff.

It will not hurt to test the drive as well: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
